1. What DD 214 Day is
DD 214 Day is a planning application for soldiers preparing for separation or retirement from the U.S. Army. It provides countdowns, timelines, calculators, document storage, and curated reference information. It is a planning tool, not a claims consultant, law firm, medical provider, or financial advisor.
2. Information, not advice
DD 214 Day provides information and calculations for planning purposes only. This is not legal, medical, or financial advice. Verify all information with your career counselor, SFL TAP counselor, VSO, or financial advisor before making decisions.
3. Calculations are estimates
Retirement pay projections are estimates based on current pay tables and the data you provided. Actual retired pay is computed by DFAS and may differ. Consult your Finance office or a retirement services officer for official calculations. VA disability rating estimates use the Whole Person Method and current VA rates. Actual VA decisions are made by VA raters based on the evidence in your claim. Consult an accredited VSO before filing.
4. Your documents
Do not upload documents containing classified information (CONFIDENTIAL, SECRET, TOP SECRET, S//NF). Redact your full SSN before uploading any document. DD 214 Day stores documents encrypted at rest, but you remain responsible for the contents you upload.
5. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials private and for the accuracy of the information you enter. You may delete your account at any time from Settings; deletion removes your profile and stored documents.
6. Acceptable use
Do not upload classified material, attempt to access another user's data, probe or disrupt the service, or use the application for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.
7. Subscriptions
Free, Premium, and Pro tiers are described on the home page. Paid checkout opens with the mobile launch; until then, no payment is collected through this site. Pricing is flat. We never charge a percentage of your benefits, back pay, or claim value.
8. Founders Lifetime purchases
A Founders Lifetime purchase is a one-time payment that grants the named tier for the life of DD 214 Day as a service. Lifetime means the lifetime of the product, not the lifetime of the purchaser. Access is tied to one account and is not transferable. Pro-tier AI features carry a fair-use allowance that resets monthly. If DD 214 Day is ever discontinued, lifetime members receive at least 90 days of advance notice and a full export of their journal entries and vault documents before shutdown. If discontinuation occurs within 24 months of your purchase, we will refund a prorated share of your Founders payment; after 24 months of service, the one-time payment is considered earned and no refund is owed. Your purchase contract is with Teal Apex Group LLC.
9. No warranty and limits on liability
The service is provided as-is. We work to keep policy references current and the math correct, but we make no warranty that the service is error-free, and we are not liable for decisions made in reliance on it. Verify anything consequential with the official sources linked throughout the app.
10. Independence
DD 214 Day is an independent, veteran-owned application. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. Army, Department of Defense, or Department of Veterans Affairs.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product grows. Material changes will be noted in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
